The BondKits Bonding Kit adhesive package is a comprehensive solution for professional installation of automotive windshields and side windows. This comprehensive package includes everything needed to ensure a secure and durable bond for your vehicle's windows.

Installation kit includes:

• 2 x Window adhesive cartridges, 310 ml, with long open time. A product that provides consistent performance and reliable results in various projects and conditions.
• 2 x Combi-stick Multi-active primer, 10 ml, with anti-corrosion agent, which can be used multiple times for up to 14 days, ensuring long-lasting protection and reliability in various applications.
• 2 x Cleaning wipes, non-staining glass cleaner, also used for cleaning ceramic surfaces, coatings, and polyurethane pre-adhesive systems.
• 1 x Sanding pad

Usage:

1. Protective equipment

Always use adequate protective measures for all adhesive handling, such as protective gloves suitable for polyurethane adhesive. Also, pay attention to the ventilation of gases emitted from the adhesive, i.e., possible respiratory protection.

2. Surface pre-treatment

Roughen the bonding surfaces lightly with a roughening pad.

Clean the bonding surfaces with a cleaning wipe and allow the surface to dry. Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from grease, oil, dust, or impurities.

Pre-treat the bonding surfaces with the included primer and allow the primer to dry for approx. 15 minutes.

3 Application

Protective gloves are always recommended for application, and the adhesive is recommended to be applied with a powerful battery-powered piston gun.

Note that the adhesive compound is stiffer to apply in low temperatures. For ease of use, it is recommended to store the product at the ambient temperature before use. The open time of the adhesive is significantly shorter in warm and humid air. 

Glass bonding must always be performed within 15 minutes of adhesive application. Never bond if the surface of the applied bead has already skinned over. 

To ensure a consistent layer thickness of the adhesive joint, we recommend applying the bead with a triangular cross-section. (make bevelled notches in the adhesive nozzle)

We recommend a maximum adhesive bead height of 15mm.

4. Stain removal

Uncured adhesive can be removed from tools and equipment with a suitable solvent. Once dry, the product can only be removed mechanically.

Hands and other stained skin should be cleaned immediately with soap and water.

5. Drying

The adhesive dries at approximately 3.5mm / 24h, and the minimum drying time in a car is 2 hours. However, we always recommend the longest possible drying time in a warm space.
