We recommend this version for cars where both the outer and inner sheet metal are covered simultaneously.

The U-channel trim is installed on the car body and protects the sharp edge of the sheet metal after installation, and also provides a natural seal between the glass and the interior.

How do I measure the required trim width for my car?

1. Remove any interior panels from the sliding door / side.

2. Check if there is a separate inner sheet metal circling the opening, i.e., whether the surface sheet metal is at a different level than the inner sheet metal.

3. If the car has both an inner and an outer sheet metal, measure the distance between these two sheets and add at least the thickness of the outer sheet metal to the number, which is usually approx. 1mm. This will give you a rough estimate of the required inner dimension of the U-channel trim.

4. Note that the inner and outer sheet metal can be pressed together somewhat during the installation of the U-channel trim, so the inner dimension of the U-channel trim does not have to be exactly the same as the distance between the outer surfaces of the sheet metal.

How do I measure the required trim length for my car?

1. Remove any interior panels from the sliding door / side.

2. Measure the intended opening along the inner fold with a tape measure and add at least 10cm to ensure you get enough U-channel trim.
